Computer worm is a class of malware program that exploits security holes in computer networks to reproduce itself and infect computer systems over that network. A computer worm will scan a computer network for machines and systems that have specific vulnerabilities and takes advantage of that vulnerability to replicate and infect the machine.
A worm can spread through shared files, folders, emails other shared applications. This class of malware can harm your computer, steal personal information, perform unethical activities on infected machine, consume bandwidth and slow down its performance. Worms can also create a backdoor for hackers to access your computer.
How to Remove Computer Worms
Computer worms can be eliminated using antimalware software. There are times you may not be able to remove this malware easily if you computer has been hijacked and you can’t run a legitimate antimalware program or access the Internet. This may be due to the fact that the malware has changes your LAN setting and rewritten your registry files. In that case you may have to take some actions before using your removal tool.
If the malware has damaged your computer, you may sometimes need to take more drastic steps like reinstalling the operating system or using a service like Reimage.
